Following up on our recent pour, here is a fresh look at the next stage of our abalone shell and live-edge wood table project!
With the deep resin rivers cured, we are applying a clear top coat across the entire table top surface. Using a notched spreader, we evenly distribute the high-gloss epoxy over the natural wood grain, dark resin currents, and iridescent abalone fragments embedded around the edges.
This flood coat coats every inch in a protective, crystal-clear layer that amplifies the depth of the shells and brings out the rich warmth of the live-edge wood. The table is now leveling out into a seamless, glass-like finish.
